Digging Second Grade Soil Studies

My class went exploring at the Eagle River Nature Center as part of our soil science studies. The sun was bright and the air smelled like spring. Peering through magnifying scopes, my students examined bark, leaves, bugs and sticks. They dug into the earth and turned up cold, dark dirt and even a worm or two.
