So, someone said that the North Rim of the Grand Canyon was a mere two hour drive away from our family reunion spot in St. George. None of us had ever seen the canyon, so we thought, "Why not?" We piled into a few cars and bombed our way there, stopping at Jacob's Lake to say hello to Melissa Stevens, our sweet niece who is working there for the summer. Turns out it wasn't a two hour drive - it was three and a half hours! (It took us four and a half, due to the stop at the lake.) And of course it was another three and a half hours back to St. George. We were only at the canyon for about an hour. What do I think of the Grand Canyon? Spectacular, amazing, breathtaking, unbelievable, stupendous, fantastic, incredible...worth the drive.
