It was a feast of delicious repast, rousing songs and traditional gifts at the Crabtree's this year. We sang a belated Happy Birthday to Michael and cheered as he blew out 18 candles. Grandma Great, with help from the whole gang, recited "The Night Before Christmas," little (and big) angels sang carols and we unwrapped pajamas from Grandma. Check out Kai's stylish outfit - dinosaur p.j.s paired with santa socks.
The highlight of the evening for me was David's reading of the Good Samaritan. David pointed out that the master healer, who binds our broken hearts and all our wounds, is Christ - born of Mary and wrapped in swaddling clothes. Christ is the Good Samaritan and we are the beaten travelers. Though others fail, Christ will rescue us.
"Peace on earth, good will to men."
