My teaching colleague, Cynde, and I went to Vegas in November 2012 for the NWP Annual Meeting. We were inspired by the speakers and workshops, got advice from Elyse Eidman-Aadahl (one of the writers of Because Digital Writing MattersI) rubbed shoulders with some of our favorite professional book writers and gathered great ideas home for our Alaska State Writing Consortium. Everyone is faced with the same challenges - how to do more with less.
We went exploring Vegas one afternoon and discovered an inspiring original Monet exhibit at the Venetian Hotel and watched an amazing acrobatic show by the Cirque deSole troupe at the Marriott. Our fellow ASWC member, Mary, had her nephew, a chef at a world-class restaurant create a five course meal for us -an incredible, one in a lifetime eating experience.
