Best Fish and Chips in Alaska!

This was our view on a wet, rainy day in August when we drove on a whim through the tunnel to Varly's Swiftwater Seafood Cafe in Whittier, Alaska. We listened to the rain drum on the porch roof and shared a table with a couple from New York who were just finishing up a month long motor-home tour of Alaska. We exchanged camping, fishing and hiking stories and sighed with pleasure as we inhaled our lunches. The shrimp, halibut and rockfish Varly's uses comes straight from the icy waters of Prince William Sound.  They dip the fish by hand in their secret recipe batter.  I had their incredible home-made clam chowder and melt in your mouth home-made rhubard crisp for dessert.  Are you hungry now?
