Inside the classrooms

Here are some inside shots of the classrooms. The classrooms were stark and noisy without any carpeting. They were dusty, hot and a little dim. They had great chalk boards, though. The boards were on rollers and you could adjust them up or down - down, so you could write on the very tip top, or up so that the students in the back rows could see what you wrote. Very nifty. The green room with the big cracks in the walls was the teacher preparation area - we kept all our books and supplies in there and met each other during the breaks to exchange books and give each other moral support. "Of course you can go back in there and face those kids again!" The teacher camaraderie was one of the best parts about the program. It was so fun to collaborate and cheer each other on.
