We quickly discovered that our fair skin and clutsy American ways were popular with the locals. Everywhere we went, people wanted to have their picture taken with us. (Okay, mostly with the young, cute, female teachers in our group - but Bonnie, who loves everyone she meets, was quite popular, too.) We could have financed our trip by charging a yuan every time someone clicked our mug shots.
